We live our lives always expecting others to give us something in order to feel validated. In fact, there is no surer way of ruining a special occasion for a woman than for her special day to go unmentioned and unrewarded. Yet, sometimes after we finally receive the expected rewards we are still left feeling short-changed. Either because they did not reward us in the way we expected or because the rewards were of a lesser in value than what we think we deserve. It is not a set-up neither is it evil-intentioned. The truth is that most times people don’t know what to give us in the first place. They do their best in trying to guess our wishes and our likes.
